PC Sreeram recalls his last meeting with Balu Mahendra

, Vincent Adaikalaraj and himself, was clicked during the photo exhibition which the music maestro had put up more than six years ago. Recollecting those times, Sreeram says that it was his last meeting with the legendary Balu Mahendra. Terming the way Balu called him as special, Sreeram posted, “Came across this photo on Twitter. It was during raja sir’s photo exhibition. That was my last meeting with balumahendra sir. The way he calls me “Shree” will always be special.” The Sathi Leelavathi filmmaker passed away less than a month ago after the exhibition was concluded in Chennai.

Titled Naan Paarthapadi, the exhibition featured several photographs clicked by Ilaiyaraaja, as part of his hobby which he pursued from 1978. He had then informed that his clicked pictures, which belonged to varied genres, were more than 5,000. The legendary composer had said that he stopped taking picture after digital era became popular and that he used to be keen to possess new cameras whenever they were introduced in market. Raja went on to add that Balu Mahendra and Sreeram had appreciated his photos. In the week-long exhibition, he had also spoken in detail about how some of the photos disturbed him and how he missed clicking many true moments with his camera.
