Malavika Mohanan, the daughter of one of the most wanted cinematographers of the country KU Mohanan made her debut in Tamil with Superstar Rajnikanth's 'Petta'. Karthik Subbaraj had directed the film which turned out a super hit.

Malavika Mohanan has now signed her next movie. She will be playing the female lead alongside Vijay Deverakonda. The film is touted to be a sports-based musical entertainer titled 'Hero'. Vijay Deverakonda is said to portray the role of a bike racer.
Malavika will be making her debut in Telugu with this film. Earlier she made her debut in

' co-starring Dulquer Salmaan and in the internationally acclaimed movie 'Beyond the clouds' directed by Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi.
Anand Annamalai who had been the dialogue writer of 'Kaaka Muttai' will be making his directorial debut with this film. The project will be bankrolled by

and is said to be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. The film is still in its nascent stages of production and talks are on with several prominent actors to be part of this project.
