Vishal expessed regret for having decided to contest the bypoll without consulting the actors' body's team of executives.
He explained that the reason for opposing Vishal's bid to enter politics was based on the collective view that the apolitical nature of the SIAA should be maintained. The vice-president had stressed the same point in the December 4 letter. Vishal's decision to fight the poll contradicted their earlier decision to remain "without politics," Ponvannan had said.
The row following his resignation offer was resolved with SIAA chief and other senior actors' intervention.
