Karthik Subbaraj was released in theatres on May 1 last year. As the film marks its first anniversary, the actress who played a nuanced role as Rukmini took to her social media handle to celebrate the movie and talked about her experience shooting some scenes.
Pooja Hegde revisits set memories
Pooja Hegde took to her Instagram handle to share old memories from the shoot on social media. She posted photos and videos from the set of Retro. The album showed her character Rukmini in many scenes. She also shared clips of a ligament tear, a boat catching fire and a heavy storm during shooting. She wrote, "One year of RETRO Storms a ligament tear endless mud our boat catching fire (Suhas forever a hero) and an island full of snakes By all accounts it should’ve been chaos But it wasn’t."
The ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ actress said the shoot looked very hard from outside, but it felt peaceful inside. The team faced storms, mud fire on the boat and even snakes on the island. She said even with all these problems, the mood on set was full of laughter. Everyone worked with love for the cinema.
Gratitude towards Karthik Subbaraj and Suriya
Hegde thanked director Karthik Subbaraj for trusting her with the role. She also thanked Suriya for his support during the film. She said that when people create with the right team, even hard days feel easy and calm.
Her caption read, “It was filled with peace, good vibes,a whole lot of laughter and a feeling of making something purely for the love of it. Speaking of her upcoming movie, Pooja Hegde is now gearing up for her next Hindi film, ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’. Directed by David Dhawan, she shared screen with Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur.
