Lady Luck seems to be smiling on Poorna, for she’s signed up several films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industries, which revolve around the heroine. She begins, “Interestingly, I play the title role in most of these films. While I play a strong, courageous village girl in Karuvachi, the plot of Mei Azhagi revolves around the characters of my brother and mine.
The film has no hero! I have a strong role in Raghavan’s Vesham as well.”
Talking about Karuvachi, Poorna says, “I appear sans makeup in the film, and I’m paired opposite Akhil (of Kalloori fame). I had gone deglam for Drohi earlier, in which I played a slum girl. But this role is entirely different from other characters that I’ve played before.”
In Tollywood, she’s signed a thriller film — Auvunu. “And in Mollywood, I will be seen playing the title role in the remake of the 1974 hit Chattakaari. I will be reprising actress Lakshmi’s character in the film, and I’m quite excited about it,” she smiles.
