, who was last seen in Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, says that her foray into filmdom was something which she never anticipated. Having started her career in theatre with ‘Medai — the

Theatre Group

’, which she co-founded with her friend, the performer says that it was a short film which she did after persuasion by her friend that changed the course of her life.

Porkodi says, “The short film received good response and I started getting offers for films, too. I have done 30 plays, 15 movies and short

films

till date. However, like most of the artistes, I, too, place theatre close to my heart. It gives more scope to expand our talent. Moreover, I have had not-so-good experiences while working in cinema. But I had a good time working in some of the big projects.”

Porkodi, who is currently busy with three plays, is choosy about cinema offers, and hopes that her upcoming films Pyaar Prema Kaadhal and Tik Tik Tik will win rave reviews.
