After the photoshoot still of Rajinikanth's upcoming film tentatively titled '
Thalaivar 167
' directed by
AR Murugadoss
was leaked recently, the makers have released the first look poster of the film along with the title. The film starring
Rajinikanth and
Nayanthara in the lead has been titled '
Darbar
'. Just the leaked photos revealed that Rajinikanth will be playing a cop in the film, the first look poster also reveals the same.
While the shooting of the film is set to begin on April 10, the makers have already released the title and first look poster. This is perhaps the first time the title and poster of a Rajinikanth film has been revealed so soon, thanks to the leaked photoshoot stills. Interestingly, Rajinikanth last played a cop role in 'Pandian', which came out in 1992 and is set to don the police uniform after more than 25 years.
The poster comes with a like written on it saying, "You decide whether you want me to be good, bad or worse." Rajinikanth seems to be playing an IPS officer in the film. The post features a happy Rajinikanth with a naughty smile on his face and a number of things related to police in the backdrop. It has an IPS badge, police belt and cap, rifles, bullets, a furious dog with a collar belt that says police, handcuffs, and a yellow tape that is used in a crime scene. With the Gateway of India in the background of all this, looks like the story will unfold in Mumbai.
The film bankrolled by Lyca Productions has become the talking point now. While Santosh Sivan will handle the cinematography for the film,Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music. The makers are also planning a Pongal release in January 2020.
