The International Tiger Day is observed every years on July 29 to raise awareness to conserve tigers and their natural habitats. According to reports, 90% of its natural habitat is lost and its population across the globe is less than 4000. Meanwhile, India has been doing well in

. According to the latest report released by the environment ministry, India now accounts 70 per cent of the world’s total population of tigers. The International Tiger Day was first announced at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia in November 2010. It aimed to promote a global system to protect the natural habitats of big cats.

Rajiv Menon last directed ‘Sarvam Thaaala Mayam’, which was released in February 2019. The film that won critical acclaim featured GV Prakash in the lead role and had music by AR Rahman. The director himself composed one song in the film, ‘Varalaama’. His next assignment is Shiva’s comedy drama ‘Sumo’. He is the cinematographer of the film.
