We’d earlier reported that
Rajkiran will be teaming up with
Mammootty for the first time in a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual. Now, the latest on that is the film has been titled
Kuberan. The first look of the film was released recently, and has Rajkiran and Mammootty hugging each other, with each raising their hand, depicting their friendship.
A source says, “The film, directed by Ajai Vasudev, went on floors in August. In Malayalam, the film has been titled Shylock, and Mammootty had said that the title is a reference to the iconic character from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. While the Mollywood star plays a rich miser in the film, Rajkiran plays a strong-willed person. He’s paired opposite Meena in the bilingual. Interestingly, Rajkiran and Meena had teamed up for En Rasavin Manasile 28 years ago.”
Music for the film, which is expected to release in December, has been scored by Gopi Sundar.
