Popular south actress Rambha is reportedly set for a return to the entertainment industry. The actress, who made her Malayalam debut in Sargam (1992) alongside Vineeth, is now expected to make a comeback as a judge on the dance reality show Jodi: Are You Ready on Vijay TV. She is said to be replacing actress Meena in the upcoming season.
According to News 18 reports, producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu recently revealed an interesting detail about Rambha’s financial stature. Speaking at a film festival, he stated, “Rambha owns property worth Rs 2,000 crore. Her husband, a major businessman, approached me requesting a film opportunity for her. I assured him that I would find a suitable project.”
While official confirmation about her return to films is yet to be made, these developments hint at a possible comeback for the actress, who once ruled South Indian cinema.
Meanwhile, Rambha was last seen in the 2010 film ‘Pen Singam’, which was directed by Bali Srirangham, the script penned by M Karunanidhi, starring Meera Jasmine in the female lead. The movie didn’t receive many good responses from the audience.
On the other hand, Rambha is a known face for Malayali audiences as she has breathed life into several characters in popular Malayalam movies. Her previous outing in the Malayalam film industry was with the Kalabhavan Mani starrer comedy drama movie ‘Kabadi Kabadi’ which also featured Mukesh in one of the lead roles. Rambha’s most popular roles in the Malayalam film industry are in the films ‘Kochi Rajavu’, ‘Mayilattam’, ‘Aanandham’, and many others. Rambha’s most popular Malayalam outing is the Mammootty starrer ‘Chronic Bachelor’ which was directed by Siddique and turned out to be a blockbuster.
