While working on the film 'Athu Oru Kanaa Kaalam' with director
Balu Mahendra, Dhanush and Vetrimaaran developed a great friendship. At the time, Vetrimaaran worked as an assistant director to Balu Mahendra. Dhanush and Vetrimaaran teamed up the second time for the film 'Desiya Nedunchalai' after their super hit first film 'Polladhavan'. But the film didn't proceed further due to some reasons even after the cast and crew had been finalized. Then Vetrimaaran's assistant Manimaran directed the film with Siddharth in the lead role, and it was released under the title 'Udhayam NH4'. Now, Dhanush’s fans have been circulating an unseen poster of Dhanush from 'Desiya Nedunchalai' on social media and sharing thoughts on how they wish the film had worked out. They are even comparing it with Siddharth’s 'Udhayam NH4' and discussing how that too was Vetrimaaran’s story at the end of the day.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Vetrimaaran and Dhanush's last film 'Asuran' has dazzled a popular Chinese production house, and talks are on for the Chinese remake.
