Rathna Kumar reveals why he didn't associate with Lokesh Kanagaraj in 'Coolie'

Lokesh Kanagaraj is one of the most successful directors in the South, and Rathna Kumar has associated with the director as a co-writer in most of his films. Rathna Kumar is not part of Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming film 'Coolie' featuring Rajinikanth in the lead role, and the former's disinterest in associating with the actor was claimed to be the reason for his exit. But Rathna Kumar muted those rumors through his latest chat with SS Music. Rathna Kumar initially planned to direct a film based on a story by Lokesh Kanagaraj but had to prioritize that project, leaving no room to work on 'Coolie' simultaneously. Later, he decided to pursue his own film in the 'Premalu' style romantic zone. Despite not being fully involved with 'Coolie', Rathna Kumar is part of its discussions and even reviewed much of the footage that had been shot by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, is poised to be a high-octane action thriller revolving around gold smuggling. The Superstar actor takes on the titular role, exuding a rugged and dynamic energy that fans are eager to witness.
