Yesteryear actress Rekha Harris, who had been a contestant on Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4, is all set to play the lead in a comedy drama titled Miriammaa, directed by Malathy Narayan.
Malathy, who is also doctor by profession, says, “The film follows the story of a 50-yearold woman who undergoes IVF (in vitro fertilisation) treatment to get pregnant. It’s all about what forces her to take up the treatment and the events that happen after that. ”
The debutante director says that the story touches upon advancements in the medical industry and facilities that even allow peopleto customise their babies.
The film will go on floors today in Chennai and major portions of the film will be shot in Korukkupet.
“Anita Sampath will be playing the role of a doctor in the film. Ezhil Durai will be seen playing Rekha’s son,” says Malathy. While VJ Ashiq and Malathy herself play Ezhil’s friends, Sneha Kumar of Iravin Nizhal fame is his love interest. The film’s cinematography is by Jason Williams and music is by AR Raihanah.
