Samantha to play a negative character in 'Thalapathy 67'

Samantha is reuniting with Vijay for the fourth time with the upcoming film 'Thalapathy 67', and reports suggest that the actress will be playing a character with a negative shade in the upcoming film. Samantha was paired with Vijay in three films 'Kaththi', 'Theri', and 'Mersal', and her chemistry with the star has worked wonders for all three films. The gorgeous actress is teaming up with Vijay again with 'Thalapathy 67', which is reported to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

As per the latest reports, Samantha will be playing a character of negative shade, apparently a cop, and will not be playing Vijay's romantic interest in the film.

The official announcement regarding the film is yet to be made, and it's expected to arrive at the end of August. Reported to be a gangster drama, Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently working on the final script of the film. The shooting of 'Thalapathy 67' is planned to begin in October, and the film might hit the big screens later this year.

Samantha is currently part of the Telugu films 'Shaakuntalam' and 'Kushi', and Tamil-Telugu bilingual 'Yasodha', and all are at different stages of production.
