Santhanam and Karthik Yogi team up for a period comedy with Vadakupatti Ramasamy

Santhanam has joined hands with director Karthik Yogi, with whom he had earlier worked with in Dikkiloona, for a film, titled Vadakupatti Ramasamy, that will go on floors today. The filmmaker, a self-confessed fan of Goundamani, has titled this film, too, borrowing from a word used by the legendary comedian in one of his comedy tracks.Karthik Yogi says, "This film is a period comedy set in the backdrop of the 1960s. It's a very interesting concept and Santhanam will be sporting a new look in the film."While the team is yet to finalise the female lead, Tamizh has been roped in to play the antagonist's role. Actors like MS Baaskar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Ravi Maria, John Vijay, Seshu, Jacqueline, and Motta Rajendran will be a part of this project. Music director Sean Roldan, cinematographer Deepak and editor Shiva Nandeeswaran form the core technical crew.
