The story of this film revolves around a video game designer who starts witnessing the characters from his newly designed video game in reality during its launch. This incident sparks off a chain of thrilling events over one night.

Although Tamil cinema has witnessed the release of many horror movies, the director says that ‘Iravu’ will be an exceptional thriller drama with more emphasis on emotions, with a gripping screenplay. "Vetri plays a gamer and game designer who imagines the characters from his game coming to life. We have used that to create a ghost movie," says Jagadeesan, who adds that the film will also talk about loneliness, "There are people who love being lonely while many hate being alone. Is it a good life if someone is earning well in the US while their parents are alone here? Like my earlier films, this one, too, will have a strong emotional connect."

"Usually, we have seen a ghost as something that scares away people, but in this film, we are exploring what is the problem that haunts the ghost," he adds.

He cast Vetri because he is one actor who chooses unique scripts. Shivani will be seen in the role of a hair stylist. The romance will be crucial to the plot, says the filmmaker.

Along with Vetri and Shivani Narayanan, prominent actors like Mansoor Ali Khan, Santhana Bharathi, Rajkumar, George, Deepa, Ponnambalam, Seshu and Kalki, among others, are part of the star cast.
