The shooting of highly anticipated sequel to
Dhanush starrer ‘Maari’ has been completed. Emerging superstar of

Thomas will play the antagonist in the movie. The film recently wrapped up the shooting, Director Balaji Mohan and actor Dhanush took to their respective Twitter handle to announce the same.
‘Maari’, that released in 2015, had
Kajal Agarwal paired with Dhanush. However, the second part will have 'Premam' fame actress Sai Pallavi in the female lead. Vijay Yesudas played the villain role in the first part. ‘

’ will not be the first time Tovino will be seen in a negative role as the actor has excelled as a villain in Malayalam movies like ‘7th Day’, ‘Style’ and ‘ABCD’.
The second part is also written and directed by Balaji Mohan who has updated about the completion of ‘Maari 2’ through his Twitter handle. Dhanush also shared the news through his Twitter handle and wrote that he would like don the role of ‘Maari’ again.
Vidya Pradeep, Varalekshmi Sharathkumar, Robo Shankar and Nisha will play important roles in the sequel.
