Mani Ratnam’s much-awaited action drama 'Thug Life' is all set for its theatrical release on June 5, and the buzz surrounding the film is growing by the day. With Kamal Haasan leading the cast, the film promises a gritty tale packed with high-stakes action and emotional depth. Promotions for the film are in full swing, and recent revelations have further piqued audience curiosity, especially regarding the musical lineup.
In a recent interview with Behindwoods, Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman joined Kamal and the rest of the 'Thug Life' team to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the film’s music. The highlight? Shruti Haasan has sung a powerful track titled 'Vinveli Nayakan', which is picturized on her father Kamal himself. This emotional musical collaboration marks their first in 16 years, her last being in the 2009 film 'Unnaipol Oruvan.'
The song 'Vinveli Nayakan' is already being hailed as a major emotional anchor in the film. Fans are thrilled to see the real-life father-daughter duo share a creative connection once again. Shruti’s distinct vocals, paired with Rahman’s evocative composition, are expected to add a unique layer of intensity to the movie’s narrative, especially given that the track supports a key moment in Kamal’s character arc.
A stellar ensemble and a gripping plotline'Thug Life' explores themes of revenge and redemption, unfolding through a deeply personal father-son storyline. Apart from Kamal Haasan, the film boasts a stellar cast including Silambarasan TR, Trisha, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Pankaj Tripathi, and Ali Fazal. Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra also shines in the vibrant first single “Jinguchaa,” where her energetic dance performance became an instant fan favourite.
