The music and trailer of director Saravana Rajendhiran’s ‘
Mehandi Circus
’ is all set to be launched tomorrow. The film, starring Rangaraja and Bollywood actress
Shweta Tripathi in the lead, is about a circus troupe. While
Raju Murugan has penned the story and dialogues, Sean Roldan has composed the music.
Speaking to us on an earlier occasion, Shweta, who plays Mehendi, a circus artiste in the film, said, “I did workshops for the film and have some beautiful memories of being in Chennai. Raju Murugan is part of the film; it’s a lovely love story. I got to dance as well.”
The film has been shot in Kodaikanal and Mumbai. Recalling an incident from the set, she said, “We were shooting in Kodaikanal and I was on location. The AD told me that I would have my shot after 30 minutes as the team was shooting with Raja (Rangaraja). But, it got delayed and I had to wait for over two hours. Soon, Raja came up to me and apologised for delaying my shoot because and said he took a while because he wanted to give the perfect shot. I was perfectly okay because I loved his dedication. And then, the next day, the crew and I decided to go out for a biriyani treat nearby. When Raja heard this, he insisted that he’d make biriyani for the entire lot because he is a chef himself and runs a big catering business. We always have 5am call sheet and shoot late into the night. So, I tried talking him out of the plan, but he just wouldn’t listen. He treated us all to some amazing biriyani the next day.”
