Talking about the film, Vishal says, “It is definitely not an anthology. It is a hyperlink story about events that happen over a couple of days. It is a slice-of-life drama about people from different walks of life connected by one particular incident. What happens in their lives and what they go through is what the plot is all about. It will be a very hopeful film.”

The filmmaker says that these characters in the film will be people we come across every day. “It could be our father, our neighbour, our colleague... So, you will definitely relate to these characters,” he adds.

An engineer-turned-filmmaker, Vishal did a course on screenwriting and direction at Rajiv Menon’s film institute before working with directors like Chandru (Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham), Madhumita (Moone Moonu Vaarthai) and CS Amudhan (Tamizh Padam 2). He also had a stint on television, assisting Madhumita on the weekend episodes of Bigg Boss Tamil - Season 1 and on the reality show Enga Veetu Mapillai.

He says he should thank his producers for helping him get such a great cast in his debut film. “It’s a diverse cast, with experienced artistes like Nasser sir, Bhanupriya ma’am, Ilavarasu sir and

KS Ravikumar sir

, and younger actors like Abi Hasan, and Praveen Raja. Then, you have people like Ashok Selvan sir and Riythvika, who have done a considerable number of films. They were all very cooperative and I learnt a lot from the senior actors, and it was a great experience directing this cast,” he says.

Manikandan, who has acted in films like Kaala and Sillu Karuppatti, and is the dialogue writer of Vikram Vedha, has written the dialogues for the film. Meyyendiran Kempuraj, who shot KD (a) Karuppudurai, is the cinematographer of the film, while GK Prasanna is the editor. Radhan of Arjun Reddy fame is composing the music for this film.

The team had started shooting by January end during the unlock phase after the first wave of COVID-19. “But then the second wave started, and we had to stop shooting. And once permission for resuming shoots was given by the government, we started work again. But we had shot a major portion of the film before the second wave itself. We are currently shooting the remaining portions for a few days,” signs off the director.
