Singer Swagatha wraps up shooting for her debut film Kaayal

It was reported recently that playback singer

Swagatha S Krishnan

is making her acting

debut

. On Friday evening, she took to her Twitter account to announce that she has wrapped up shooting for the movie, titled Kaayal. Directed by lyricist-turned-filmmaker Dhamayanthi, the film stars Gayathrie,

Ramesh Thilak

and Lingesh among others.

Swagatha

said that it was the film's script which impressed her which made her take a plunge into acting. In fact, she had listened to a few other scripts, too, but

Kaayal

made her say yes instantly.

The young singer had also shared a few working stills along with the

tweet

and thanked her fans for the support and encouragement she has been receiving from them since the news of her acting debut was out. Her tweet read, "Happy to share with you guys that I’m debuting as an actor with #Kaayal “ காயல் “. Among the many scripts I heard, this one impressed me & pushed me to say an instant ‘YES’. We've wrapped the shooting . Thanks for the love and support."
