This marks a rare move for the OTT platform. According to industry expert Sreedhar Pillai, the delay aims to extend the film’s theatrical run due to its strong box office performance and critical acclaim. Reports suggest that the film secured OTT rights for a whopping Rs 60 crores.

The film brings to life the heroic story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who sacrificed his life during an anti-terror mission. Adapted from 'India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes' by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, 'Amaran' has received positive reviews from both critics and audiences. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the movie also stars Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, and Shreekumar Ganesh in pivotal roles, with music by GV Prakash Kumar. The movie has nearly crossed Rs 150 crores in total collections, emerging as the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024. It was backed by Kamal Haasan’s production house, with the actor supporting the movie with his presence at various events since its inception.

Sivakarthikeyan will next be seen in 'SK23' or 'SKxARM', directed by AR Murugadoss. He also confirmed his reunion with 'Don' director Cibi Chakravarthy. Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi is set to appear in 'Thandel' alongside Naga Chaitanya and has also joined Ranbir Kapoor for the highly anticipated 'Ramayana'.
