Sivakarthikeyan felicitates young cricketers

Directors Ponram and MP Gopi's native Usilampatti's Government Higher Secondary School saw a two-day cricket event organised by then. They had called students and other youngsters in and around the place to participate. Eventually 16 teams from Madurai had participated in the event. The winning team gets to come to Chennai, meet Sivakarthikeyan and will be felicitated at the set of his upcoming film, Mr Local.
In fact, for directors Ponram and Gopi, Siva's production venture 'Kanaa' was one of the reasons why they had decided to conduct a cricket event in their school. "We had invited him to attend the match. But since he was busy, he had requested 'Kanaa' film's hero Darshan, director Rajesh, actor Antony Bhagyaraj and his fan club president Mohan Das to attend. Eventually, the winning team came over to Chennai and Sivakarthikeyan gave away awards. We thank him for taking time out from his busy schedule," they said. The team came over and was very happy to meet Sivakarthikeyan.
