Director Vasanth Sai's Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum, which has been getting a lot of acclaim and award, has received one more honour now. The multiple National Award-winning film will be screening at the prestigious Tashkent International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 17. Only recently, the film — an anthology featuring Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Kalieswari Sreenivasan, that revolves around the lives of three women from three time periods — had been bestowed with three awards at the 68th National Awards. It had won Best Tamil film, Best Supporting Actress (Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli) and Best Editing (Sreekar Prasad).
The film will be screened on the celebratory occasion of 'Indian Cinema Days' at TIFF at 12 pm on September 17 at the Jizzakh musical-dramatical theatre
According to a message received by director Vasanth from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, the filmmaker has also been selected as "a member for the Tashkent International Film Festival to represent Indian cinema on the world scale" at the upcoming edition of the TIFF.
Speaking to us post the announcement of the National Awards, director Vasanth had told us that he wanted to make this film without any compromises and explore the artiste in him. "Generally, when we do a film, while thinking about the story, we'd be thinking about the audience as well. With this film, I wanted to explore my artistic side 100 per cent. That's why I call this film straight-from-the-heart and a form of self-expression. I did it without any compromise and wanted to see where I could go with that approach," he had said.
