Stunt Master Kanal Kannan arrested in Tamil Nadu for controversial Tweet featuring Pastor's dance

In connection with an alleged derogatory tweet against Christianity, 'Kanal' Kannan, the renowned stunt choreographer, has been arrested by the Tamil Nadu police in Kanyakumari. The Cyber Crime Wing police took action after a complaint was filed by Austin Bennet, the deputy organizer of the DMK IT Wing, against a Hindu Munnani office-bearer.

Bennet reportedly accused Kannan of sharing a "manipulated video" on Twitter, depicting a priest dancing with a girl. The police subsequently registered a case and apprehended Kannan. Reportedly, Bennet further accused Kannan of including a derogatory remark in an attempt to defame Christianity.

Following the registration of the case, the Cyber Crime police summoned Kannan for questioning on Monday (July 10) at 10 am. After facing several hours of interrogation, Kannan was eventually arrested at approximately 7 pm.

Meanwhile, Reportedly Kannan had also faced arrest last year due to a remark he made against rationalist leader Periyar EV Ramasamy. The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by a Dravidian outfit.

On the work front, Kanal Kannan has worked in several popular Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and Telugu films as an action choreographer. His previous outing was with the Unni Mukundan starrer Malayalam superhit film ‘Malikappuram’
