Suriya and Vijay Deverakonda indulge in fun X exchange following 'Karuppu's massive opening: ‘PM asked not to go abroad’

Vijay Deverakonda joined the celebrations after the impressive box office performance of 'Karuppu'. The actor shared a heartfelt message for Suriya and praised the overwhelming audience response to the film. Directed by RJ Balaji, 'Karuppu' stars Suriya alongside Trisha Krishnan. The film was released on May 15 and has emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year.

Vijay Deverakonda praises Suriya and the team

Vijay Deverakonda took to X to congratulate the entire team of 'Karuppu'. He wrote, “So happy to see the overwhelming love for @Suriya_offl anna’s Karuppu in Tamil and Veerabhadrudu in Telugu. Hearing it is huuuuge.”



He further added, “Love, love, love the news. For the brilliance he has been showing us on screen, giving his everything every year… finally, when the theatres are loud and noisy, it fills all of us with joy.”

The 'Kingdom' actor also urged Suriya to take a break, writing, “Big congratulations, anna. Please take a nice holiday. Congratulations to director RJ Balaji and dearest Trisha Krishnan.”

Suriya asks for holiday suggestions

Suriya responded with a light-hearted message and credited the success to the fans. He also asked Vijay for recommendations on where he should travel.

Responding to Vijay’s message, Suriya wrote, “Haha! All this is for our dear fans…! By the way, which is a good holiday spot?”

Vijay replied that he would send a list of travel destinations within India. He referred to recent comments by Narendra Modi encouraging people to explore local tourism.

Vijay wrote, “Prime Minister asked everyone not to go abroad. So sending my Indian recommendations, where you can have some peaceful private time… on WhatsApp, anna.”


'Karuppu' crosses Rs 120.75 crore worldwide

'Karuppu' has posted exceptional numbers in its first three days. According to Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 68 crore in India net collections. Its India gross stands at Rs 78.75 crore, while overseas markets have added Rs 42 crore. With that, the worldwide gross has climbed to Rs 120.75 crore.
