'Kida' was released during Diwali last year, and the film was released along with 'Jigarthanda DoubleX', 'Japan', and 'Raid'. Though 'Kida' occupied lesser number of screens among the Diwali releases, it received the best reviews from critics. Despite earning positive reviews, 'Kida' failed to have an extended theatrical run due to poor buzz and promotions for the film. However, 'Kida' is set to reach a wider audience as the film is scheduled to have an OTT release.
'Kida' will be now streaming on a popular digitial platform from December 15, and the film will only be streaming in Tamil. 'Kida' is the last to have the OTT release among the 2023 Diwali release, while 'Jigarthanda DoubleX', 'Raid', and 'Japan' are already streaming on different digital platforms.
Written and directed by Ra Venkat, 'Kida' features Deepan, Paandiyamma, 'Poo' Ram, Kaali Venkat, and Vijaya in the main roles. The interesting drama mainly focuses on three characters; a grandfather, his grandson, and his pet goat. 'Kida' was initially screened in multiple film festivals before its theatrical release, and the film won multiple awards as well.
