With the intense lockdown in place in Chennai and surrounding districts, the government have enforced strict lockdown rules and liquor sales in the city has been stalled for over a long time now. With some of the neighbouring states and districts having opened the sales of liquor, the police have been checking all the vehicles coming into the city.
Yesterday, M Kalaiselvan, who has produced a movie called '
Dha Dha 87
' starring Charuhasan in the lead and a dentist was identified as Anandraj have been booked by the Poonamalee police for smuggling liquor. Interestingly, the luxury vehicle used to smuggle the liquor bottles had a temporary board reading 'POLICE' on the windshield to avoid checking.
It is said that they were involved in selling the liquor bottles at a high rate to those desperate alcoholics. The police have reportedly seized 248 bottles of liquor, which includes 204 bottles of 180ml, three 750 ml bottles and 41 beer bottles.
Dha Dha 87 was romantic drama film written and directed by Vijay Sri G on his directorial debut. The film starred Charuhasan and Keerthi Suresh's grandmother, Saroja in the lead along with yesteryear comedian Janagaraj making a comeback with this film.
