Actor Vijay is all set to end his acting career as he will soon be making his political entry by contesting in the 2026 state assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. His last film is directed by H Vinoth and the movie is tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 69'. The makers recently announced the cast of the film that includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, Narai among others and the music for it is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
With Vijay's previous film 'GOAT' aka 'Greatest of All Time' he was already the highest paid actor in Kollywood. The makers of the film revealed that Vijay was charged a remuneration of Rs 200 crore for the film and now the reports from Track Tollywood stated that Vijay has asked for a whopping amount of Rs 275 crore for his next film 'Thalapathy 69'.
The reports also stated that Bobby Deol has not hiked his remuneration and will be receiving the same Rs 5 crore that he charged for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' that had Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The film is yet to be titled and the remuneration of the rest of the cast is yet to be revealed.
'Thalapathy 69' is said to be the remake of the Telugu film 'Bhagvanth Kesari' that was released earlier in January this year. It starred Nandamuri Balakrishna as the lead, and Arjun Rampal played the villain in the film.
Meanwhile, Vijay's previous film 'GOAT' performed well at the box office and the movie has now ended its theatrical run as it has made its digital premiere. The movie has officially grossed Rs 450 crore at the box office.
