‘The director wanted me to dub for my role’

EV Ganesh Babu, who has acted in several films, and directed Yamuna a few years ago, is now busy with his second directorial,

Kattil

, a movie which revolves around a family. Ganesh also plays the protagonist in the movie, which stars Srushti Dange in the lead. National Award-winning veteran B Lenin has written the screenplay for the film, the shooting of which kicked off recently. The story traverses through decades, from the 1940s to the present time, and Ganesh will be seen in multiple looks.

This role is completely different from some of the bubbly characters I have essayed so far. The director wanted me to dub for my role, and so, I’ve done a lot of homework to present myself as a typical Madurai girl on screen.”

According to Ganesh Babu, the title, Kattil, is quite significant to the story. He says, “A cot silently witnesses the birth of a child, death of people, lovemaking of couples... It can narrate a thousand stories if it had a mouth. The movie is high on human emotions and hence, we are confident of attracting audiences to the theatres.”
