Director TJ Gnanavel is currently basking in the success of the Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Vettaiyan,' and the filmmaker, known for his most discussed film 'Jai Bhim,' shared interesting details about his second collaboration with actor Suriya.
In a chat with Pinkvilla, TJ Gnanavel revealed that he is waiting for Suriya’s dates as the actor is already committed to two to three projects. “We had already discussed that we would meet after the release of Vettaiyan to talk about the project. We will meet sometime in the first week of November to discuss the position he is in and when his dates will be free,” Gnanavel stated.
The director confirmed that the script for the film has been completed and that pre-production is already underway. He stated that the team only needs to resume these preparations to move forward. Gnanavel expressed optimism about starting the shoot within the next three to four months, provided that they can coordinate with Suriya’s schedule.
Gnanavel has clarified that his upcoming film will diverge from the themes and styles of his previous works, 'Jai Bhim' and 'Vettaiyan.' He emphasized that this new project will feature a distinct backdrop and is inspired by a true story, which he believes is vital to share. Unlike his earlier films, it will not revolve around a police or judicial framework. The narrative draws from an article he wrote during his journalism career, making it a deeply personal endeavor for him, similar to 'Jai Bhim.'
TJ Gnanavel and Suriya worked together on the 2021 film 'Jai Bhim,' which gained wide attention for its strong and realistic plot. It was backed by Suriya and Jyothika. The movie also featured Lijomol Jose, Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan, and Prakash Raj in key roles.
Suriya recently announced his next film with RJ Balaji, 'Suriya 45,' and 'Suriya 44' with Karthik Subbaraj. He is all set for the release of 'Kanguva' by Siva on November 14.
