Ajith’s role as a father in ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ was very heart-touching. He played a retired police officer who takes care of a girl child whose mother he was supposed to marry. After the demise of Trisha (His lover), Ajith takes up the role of a full-time father. The movie did not bring Ajith’s fans to their emotional core in his father role as the girl who portrayed his onscreen daughter was not his real daughter. However in his next film 'Viswasam', the audience was easily able to connect with him as a father as it was his own daughter. In both these films, Ajith’s role as a father is unforgettable as he is powerful and always strives to save his daughter from any situation.

Suriya first played the role of father in the movie ‘Sillinu Oru Kadhal’. The movie did have a small understanding relationship between father and daughter but it did concentrate much on him being a dad. He then pulled the role of a father in the film ‘Pasanga 2’. The movie featured him as a responsible parent who focused on his child's happiness and not the success. In the film, he played the role of a child psychologist which made him get a better understanding of a child’s mindset.

The first half of the film shows Dhanush as a calm dad who is patient with his son and teaches them life lessons as he does not want his family to take up violence. But it is during interval block it is revealed that Dhanush is calm only because he lost his entire family and took up violence and did a lot of bad deeds when he was not able to control his temper. The story of the film explained how a father takes care of his son in hard times and even protects him from the worst of life and teaches him that violence does not help in life but only education does.
