The historical drama 'Ponniyin Selvan' is being directed by Mani Ratnam, and the shooting of the film began in Thailand last month. After that,
Mani Ratnam filmed some scenes at the shores of Puducherry. The
director
and his team have now moved to Hyderabad where the art director of the film Thotta Tharani has designed a huge set at the Chola Palace for this schedule. As per reports, Trisha will be joining the shoot of Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' in Hyderabad.
Trisha will be playing the role of Kunthavai in 'Ponniyin Selvan' and she will be paired up with Karthi, who plays the role of
Vandiyadevan
. Mani Ratnam has planned to shoot some important portions for the film in Hyderabad, and reportedly, stars Karthi,
Vikram,
Aishwarya Rajesh, and others are also expected to join this schedule. The film is produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, and they have planned to release the film in two parts, with the first part being set to release at the end of this year.
Meanwhile, Trisha has completed the shooting for her film 'Raangi' in Uzbekistan. The film is directed by Saravanan, while 'Darbar' director
AR Murugadoss
has written the story and dialogues for the venture.
