Mani Ratnam’s iconic film
Agni Natchathiram
that starred Prabhu, Karthik and Amala in lead roles? Now, another
Tamil film
is set to be made with the popular title, which will have
Udhaya and
Vidaarth
as lead characters. Directed by debutant Sharan, the movie, which is tipped to be a crime thriller, is expected to go on floors from September.
Says Udhaya, “We are happy to have this prestigious title for our film —it was producer Ishari K Ganesh who helped us to get it. It has nothing to do with the three-decade-old Mani sir film. The movie has both Vidaarth and me playing the leads in contrasting roles, and we felt Agni Natchathiram would be an ideal title. The movie, which will have two female leads, will be shot in Chennai, Yelagiri and Coimbatore.”
YR Prasad will compose music while LK Vijay will crank the camera for the project. Stunt Silva has been roped to direct the action scenes; Pa Vijay will pen the lyrics and San Lokesh has joined the project as the editor.
