Superstar Rajinikanth will be next seen on the silver screen in the upcoming action thriller 'Coolie'. The movie brings together some of the biggest names from across Indian cinema. Alongside Rajinikanth, the film features Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, Kannada star Upendra Rao and even Bollywood’s Aamir Khan in a special cameo.
The involvement of Nagarjuna and Upendra had been confirmed earlier by the makers, but Khan's participation was kept under wraps until now.
Aamir Khan's involvement revealedAs per a report by Pinkvilla, during a public event promoting his film '45', Upendra revealed that he will be sharing screen space with Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, and Aamir Khan in 'Coolie'. He also mentioned that working with Rajinikanth was a wonderful experience, though he refrained from sharing many details about the film's plot.
In 'Coolie' Rajinikanth reportedly plays a character with negative shades. Nagarjuna and Upendra are expected to play key roles. The film also includes Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Soubin Shahir, among others. Additionally, Pooja Hegde has been confirmed to feature in a special dance number.
Upendra, was last seen in his sci-fi dystopian action film 'UI', and will be further seen in 'Coolie' and working on his other upcoming projects like '45' and 'Buddhivantha 2'.
His film, 'UI' delves into the psychological conflict between its central characters, Sathya and Kalki, both played by Upendra in a triple role that also includes himself.
What's next for Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan?Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is also busy shooting the upcoming sequel 'Jailer 2'.
Speaking of Aamir's work, after taking a brief hiatus, he will be leading his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' a thematic sequel to his 2007 hit 'Taare Zameen Par'. The actor will be seen in a lead role opposite Genelia D’Souza, in the film expected to release in mid-2025.
