Vijay’s long-anticipated film ‘Varisu’ has been released in theatres today and fans are happy with the movie's release. Taking to Twitter, many shared positive reviews on the movie and the movie analysts reportedly state that the film might collect about Rs 25 crore in Tamil Nadu on day one of its releases.
As, Vijay’s ‘Varisu’ is clashing at the box office with another major film – Ajith’s ‘Thunivu’, it is speculated that the box office collection made by both movies will be because of the split of the movie watchers.
Trade analysts also suggested that the film’s second-day box office collection might turn out higher than that of day 1.
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, ‘Varisu’ is Tamil-Telugu bilingual film starring Vijay and
Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shaam, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha and
Yogi Babu among others and the film's music is composed by S Thaman.
It is expected that Vijay’s ‘Varisu’ will soon join the 200 crore club by the weekend as the film’s Telugu version ‘Vaarasudu’ will be released in theatres on January 14 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Over the past few years, Vijay’s films – ‘Beast’, ‘Master’, ‘Bigil, ‘
Sarkar’ have all made a box office collection of more than Rs 200 crore worldwide.
