Vemal to team up with Yogi Babu for a film by Vijay's Thamizhan director
Majith, who directed Vijay in Thamizhan, in 2002, has now roped in actors Vemal and Yogi Babu for his latest film (he had previously made the crime drama Paisa, which starred Sreeram of Pasanga and Goli Soda fame, in 2016), the title of which is yet to be announced. Yogi Babu is said to have a role that is more of a parallel lead in this film, which is touted to be a comedy entertainer with a message. The story of the film is said to revolve around how middlemen affect the lives of the common man, and what the protagonist does to bring them down. The film is said to have two female leads — Bigg Boss Tamil fame Aishwarya Dutta and Diana Champika, who had previously acted in Vijay Antony's Annadurai. MS Bhaskar, Mottai Rajendran, John Vijay, Namo Narayana, Ravi Maria, Power Star Srinivasan, Chaams and Prof Gnanasambandham feature in the supporting cast of this film. A source informs us that the shoot of the film, which has been largely shot in Chennai, is almost done, and the team will move on to the last schedule soon, which will take place in Vellore and Ranipet. The title of this project will also be announced in the next few days. We hear the makers are planning to wrap up the shoot soon, and get the film ready for a Pongal release. Interestingly, the Pongal weekend will also see the release of a movie starring Majith's first film's hero — Vijay's Varisu.
