After winning the National Award for 'Asuran', director
Vetri Maaran has kickstarted the work for his film with
Soori. The popular comedian playing the lead role in a successful director's film has already raised the expectations. The film which is based on Jeyamohan's short story 'Thunaivan' will be titled 'Viduthalai'. Interestingly, the 1986 Tamil film starring
Sivaji Ganesan and
Rajinikanth was also titled as 'Viduthalai'.
Reportedly, Vetri Maaran is in talks with the filmmakers regarding the reuse of the title, and it will be announced officially after mutual acceptance. The shooting of Soori starrer is happening in the regions of Sathyamangalam forest, and the film is nearing its completion.
Vijay Sethupathi also plays a significant role in the film,while Ilayaraja is scoring the music for the film, and it marks the ace composer's first film with Vetri Maaran.
Moreover, Vetri Maaran has also signed 'Vaadivasal' with Suriya, and the film is to be produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu.
