. The film is based on real-life incidents that have been reported on by the media. Vetri says, “The film doesn’t revolve around just one incident, but a series of them. The crux, however, revolves around a family who share a bond with their cattle. The film delves into what extent they go to save their cows, and what they lose in the process. In the background, though, we will also be talking about how several agents, who promise work, cheat the poor people, water scarcity and the challenges the downtrodden face.”

fame Raghavan in an important role, along with actor Ilavarasu. “We shot the film in Vellakoil, near Coimbatore. Usually, films set in this region always show the greener pastures and how fertile the land is. But there are localities around this place, which are dry,” he says.

Vetri says that Vidaarth and Ramya’s prowess in acting made him choose them for the film. He says, “They are great
performers and suited the roles perfectly. Both Vidaarth and Ramya are a delight to work with... they didn’t make me feel like a debutant director.” The team is now sending the project to film festivals. “We’ve already sent it to a couple of festivals and got good recognition. We will be sending the film to more festivals before the theatrical release,” says Vetri, who has aspired to become a filmmaker for a longtime.

“I did short films before, and worked under director Anis (of Thirumanam Enum Nikkah fame). Vetri Maaran is my mentor of sorts,” he informs. While N Shanmuga Sundaram has done the cinematography, NR Raghunathan has scored the music.
