Actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth has mourned the demise of the Dravida Muttera Kazhagam (DMK) party president M
Karunanidhi, who passed away on Tuesday evening after prolonged illness. He was 94.
In an emotional video message, Vijayakanth and wife Premalatha have offered condolences to the family and party members of the DMK. Talking about his rapport with Kalaignar, Vijayakanth burst into tears.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “முத்தமிழறிஞர் Dr. கலைஞர் அவர்களின் இழப்பு ஈடு செய்ய முடியாத இழப்பாகும். அவரை இழந்துவாடும் அவரது குடும்பத்தினருக்கும், உறவினர்களுக்கும், நண்பர்களுக்கும், கட்சியினருக்கும் என் ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கலை தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறேன்.”
Ever since his demise last evening, several top personalities from the Tamil film industry have expressed the condolences on Twitter.

Sivakarthikeyan paid their last respects to M Karunanidhi, whose body was brought to Rajaji Hall in Chennai around 5.30 am on Wednesday. Several political leaders have arrived at Rajaji Hall to pay their last respects.
It’s worth noting that thousands of party cadres have thronged to Rajaji Hall to pay homage to Kalaignar.
