that
Magizh Thirumeni, who made this year’s sleeper hit Thadam, is likely to direct Vijay’s next film, we hear that this might not be the case. Reports had earlier suggested that the director had narrated an action thriller to
Vijay, and that the actor liked it, and is likely to choose this to be his next film.
However, clarifying on this, a source tells us, “This is just a rumour that isn’t true. While Magizh Thirumeni did narrate a story to Vijay, this narration happened eight months ago — for his 64th film (Lokesh Kanagaraj bagged this project eventually). Moreover, the director has also committed to a film with Udhayanidhi Stalin, so he isn’t likely to be free by the time Thalapathy wants to start his next.”
Vijay is currently in Delhi, shooting for Lokesh’s film, referred to as #Thalapathy64. As for Magizh, he has completed shooting for Shakti Soundar Rajan’s Teddy, starring Arya, and will resume work on Vijay Sethupathi’s Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir, directed by Venkata Krishna Roghanth. His film with Udhayanidhi is likely to take off by early 2020.
