Vijay’s most anticipated film of the year ‘Varisu’ was released in theatres on January 11. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film is a family emotion drama and stars Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The movie has made a gross box office collection of Rs 250 crore in 15 days and it is now all set to make its digital premiere.
In a recent interaction with media, director Vamshi Paidipally said that he is yet to watch the film ‘Thunivu’ which featured Ajith in lead role. Directed by H Vinoth, the film is a thriller and it was released on the same day of ‘Varisu’. Vamshi Paidipally reportedly heaped praise for director Vinoth and stated that he will definitely watch ‘Thunivu’ soon and added that he did not have the time in the past few days to go to the theatre to watch the film.
In the same interaction, actress Jayasudha who played the role of Vijay’s mother in ‘Varisu’ revealed that she had the chance to play Ajith’s mother in ‘Valimai’ as well. She reportedly stated that she participated in the shooting for the Ajith starrer for one day but the shooting was stopped in mid due to the COVID pandemic and she said that due to the fear of infection of the virus, the actress decided not to continue acting for that time period.
