The koluthura veyil at Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai showed no signs of slowing down, but the crew members of

Seeru

were quite enthusiastic about the fight sequence they were shooting for. Director Rathina Shiva was extra cautious as it was the crucial climax fight sequence. Stunt master Ganesh was giving instructions to Jiiva and Navdeep, the protagonist and the antagonist of the film respectively. We caught up with Jiiva, who took a break from the hectic schedule to talk to us.

“It feels like we are all ingredients in a dum biryani — such is the heat inside,” says Jiiva, “The deadline is near, so the entire team is leaving no stone unturned to wrap up the movie. The film has come out well. We are currently shooting an intense action scene between Navdeep and me. Seeru is an action film with ample family elements, which involve a sister sentiment, too. And then, there are several elements which youngsters can relate to. Ours is a very young team and thanks to our hard work, all the schedules went as per plan.”

This is an out-and-out commercial film with lots of action scenes. The movie has several interesting twists which will keep the audience engaged. Jiiva plays the quintessential Tamil hero with a family, and Navdeep, our antagonist, essays the role of a lawyer. Seeru, shot in Chennai, Kumbakonam and Mayavaram, should release in August
— Rathina Shiva, director

This is my first Tamil film and I’m happy to be paired opposite
Jiiva. I play Vasuki, a bubbly, chirpy girl. It is so much fun to be on the set and i’m having a blast

I play a very important role in this power-packed action drama. For the first time, I’m playing a character with grey shades. I will be seen as Malli, a rowdy who clashes with Jiiva anna’s character. The fight and emotional scenes have come out well
— Varun, actor

This is my first film with Jiiva sir. There are four fights and one chase sequence. The interval episode has a good action scene coupled with drama. We have ensured that there are no over-the-top stunt sequences. the appreciation that I’ve received from the team is motivating.
