Tamil actor and director Sasikumar recently met Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap. Taking to Twitter Sasikumar expressed his excitement on meeting the director. Sharing a picture of him with
Anurag Kashyap with a background of books, Sasikumar wrote, “Met @anuragkashyap72 after a long time, the creator I respect .”
As per the reports, the two directors met in Mumbai and the meeting went on for two hours.
Anurag Kashyap has long been a fan of Sasikumar’s ‘Subramaniyapuram’. Anurag previously stated that when he made the Hindi film ‘Gangs of Waseeypur’, he was inspired by ‘Subramaniyapuram’ which made him want to make a movie with a raw gangster flick. Anurag even thanked Sasikumar through his official twitter handle. He had even reportedly organised a special screening of ‘Subramaniyapuram’ in Mumbai and stated that it was the “first of the three films that inspired ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’.”
Even two years back, when ‘Subramaniyapuram’ completed ten years, Sasikumar took to Twitter to thank the director as it received many accolades in different forms. In a In a row of tweets, Anurag praised Sasikumar He wrote, “@SasikumarDir it’s been ten years since you made the classic that inspired me and now you are an Actor... gimme more.”
Anurag Kashyap made his debut in Tamil cinema as an antagonist in the film ‘Imaikaa Nodigal’.
