Here's what writer Vela Ramamoorthy has to say about Dhanush starrer 'Captain Miller' plagiarising his novel 'Pattathu Yaanai'

Dhanush-starrer 'Captain Miller,' directed by Arun Matheswaran, has found itself caught up in controversy as writer and actor Vela Ramamoorthy alleges that the film is an evident copy of his novel 'Pattathu Yaanai' (Hundred Elephants).
Ramamoorthy, known for his contributions to Tamil cinema and television, expressed his grievances in a recent interview with Puthiya Thalaimurai, claiming that the makers of 'Captain Miller' did not seek his permission before adapting his novel.The writer-actor went on to announce his intention to approach the director's union to seek justice. He added his hope for support from director and actor Bharathiraja.

Ramamoorthy stated that it is completely plagiarized and emphasized that 'Captain Miller' is based on his novel 'Pattathu Yaanai.' Despite his notable roles in films such as 'Kidaari,' 'Sethupathi,' 'NGK,' 'Annaatthe,' Ramamoorthy clarified that his accusations are not motivated by a desire for fame or financial gain. Instead, he emphasized the importance of upholding intellectual property rights and ensuring justice for his hard work.

'Captain Miller' follows the story of a former British soldier on a mission to protect his village from the British and safeguard a hidden treasure held by the villagers. Co-written and directed by Arun Matheswaran and Madha Karky, the film boasts an ensemble cast including Dhanush, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken, and Edward Sonnenblick.
