Filmfare Awards 2014: Best playback singer (Female) Nominations

Sakthisree Gopalan & Deekshitha - "Naan Nee" – "Madras"
After winning an award last year for the song, Nenjukulle from Kadal, the singer and architect gets nominated for yet another breezy number Naan Nee from Madras. The song also had Deekshitha crooning along in this Santhosh Narayanan composition.

Bhavya Pandit - "Ovvondrai Thirudigirai" – "Jeeva"
This Indian Idol singer from Mumbai has won the hearts of many with her flawless rendition. With this romantic ballad, Bhavya Pandit, made her Tamil debut. This breezy number rendered by Bhavya and Karthik had lyrics by Vairamuthu. This is Bhavya's first Filmfare nomination.

Shweta Mohan - "Yarumilla"- "Kaaviyathalaivan"
Singer Sweta Mohan, who has been nominated for the song Yarumilla from Kaaviyathalaivan, has already won two Filmfare awards for a Malayalam film. Though the singer is yet to receive it for a Tamil film, Shweta won the SICA Award for Best Female Playback Singer 2014 for the same number, which is composed by AR Rahman.

Vandana Srinivasan - "Unnai Ippa"- "Kayal"
Vandana Srinivasan, who made an impressive debut with Oru Paathi Kanavu from Thaandavam, has rendered the soulful Unnai Ippa from Kayal. While the singer has been nominated earlier, she is yet to win a Filmfare award in Tamil. The film had music by D Imman.

Uthara Unnikrishnan - "Azhagu" – "Saivam"
Daughter of famous playback singer Unnikrishnan, Uthara already won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer at the 62nd National Film Awards for Azhagu this year. The song composed by GV Prakash has Uthara winning almost all the awards this year. Being her debut song, the 10-year-old singer becomes the youngest recipient of the National Award.
