Anirudh sings a romantic folk song in Aishwarya Rajesh’s Kanaa

Well-known singer and lyricist Arunraja Kamaraj, who is making his directorial debut with Kanaa, starring Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj, has roped in Anirudh to sing a song in his film. “It is a romantic folk song that has features Aishwarya and Darshan, who is making his debut. He plays Aishwarya’s romantic interest and sings this song, written by Arunraja, to woo her,” reveals a source in the film’s unit. The music for the film is by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, who had previously composed for Maragatha Naanayam. “This is a folk song, but based on a raga. Anirudh has sung a few folk numbers, but I felt that this would be new for him, and we got him to sing this one,” says Dhibu, adding, “The song will have strings and piano, which feature regularly in romantic songs, along with namma ooru instruments like tavil and nadasawaram.”He says recording with Anirudh was like working with a friend. “He is so cool. We recorded this song around midnight in his studio, which has an informal set-up,” he says.
