Alia Bhatt as Sita and Ajay Devgn as a North Indian freedom fighter in RRR

It was announced recently that Alia Bhatt, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Ajay Devgn have been recently roped in to star in SS Rajamouli’s

RRR

, which sees Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles.

Alia, who is playing a lead character in the film, is going to be romantically paired with Ram Charan’s character Alluri Seetharamaraju. Her character will be named

Sita

in the film and she will join shoot by the end of March.

Ajay Devgn on the other hand will be seen in an extended cameo, playing the role of a North Indian freedom fighter in the flashback episodes. While the director did not confirm what role the actor will be playing, he did confirm he’ll be seen in a flashback episode.

RRR will also see Jr NTR play the role of

Komaram Bheem

, with the story building up from the point when the duo went mysteriously missing in the early 1920s, only to return to be a part of the freedom struggle. Daisy Edgar-Jones will be playing Jr NTR’s love interest though nothing much has been revealed about her character.

The film has already completed a brief schedule in Hyderabad and will begin shoot in the North soon
