Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited movie 'Waltair Veerayya' has hit cinemas worldwide today, January 13. Before the release of the movie, it was reported that the film clocked a record pre-release business.
According to reports, the movie’s theatrical rights have fetched about Rs 88 crores. Of which, more than Rs 72 crore has come from selling distribution rights in the Telugu states.
Ceeded and Nizam have fetched another Rs. 17-18 crores. It recorded huge business in the Uttarandhra area where it garnered close to Rs 10.2 Crore. It did a massive business in the rest of India and overseas where it acquired Rs 2 Crore and Rs 9 Crore respectively with its theatrical rights.

With these numbers, Chiranjeevi’s film is moving in the right direction. The film will have to collect more than Rs 89 crore to be termed a hit. So for the movie to be considered a blockbuster, it would have to cross Rs 100 crore. The buzz around the film has been great so far. Especially, the theatrical trailer has received a lot of love from the film fraternity and audiences alike.
The film has been produced by Mythri Movie Makers and also stars Shruti Haasan, Catherine Tresa, Prakash Raj and Bobby Simha, among others in crucial roles. The film’s technical crew comprises composer Devi Sri Prasad, cinematographer Arthur A. Wilson and editor Niranjan Devaramane.
