November box-office results: Bleak month for industry

The month of November turned out to be a bleak month for the industry as a majority of the movies that released ended up as duds at the box-office. In all, nearly 22 films released in November including straight and dubbed films. Of them, barring Garuda Vega, rest of the films were flops. The first week saw the release of Angel, Garuda Vega and Next Nuvve. Angel and Next Nuvve barely made any money. Garuda Vega was a decent hit that broke even from the sale of its satellite rights. Second week saw the release of Adhirindi,

and C/O Surya and none of them made an impact at the ticket-window. Nearly six films released in the third week of November, of which

Khakee

was the only film that made some impact. The film starring Karthi did get positive talk on day one but failed to sustain the momentum. In week 4, Nara Rohit had a release in

Balakrishnudu

that failed. There was Sree Vishnu's Mental Madhilo that got positive reviews, but failed to pick up. But since it was made on a shoestring budget, Mental Madhilo is expected to yield positive returns to the makers. November 30 saw the release of Indrasena and Oxygen, both of which did not do well at the box office.

All in all, November has been pretty harsh on Tollywood.
